Frequently Asked Questions:
-
How much funding is available?
-
Our grants typically range from $50-$250 and grants within this range will be the most competitive. The maximum grant size is $500.
-
-
What kind of events does the OIC fund?
-
We fund events that are open to all, that bring people together across ideological lines, and that take place in Oakwood and/or involve the Oakwood community. Events can focus on learning - ranging from formal educational programs to discussions where we learn through sharing - service, and/or celebration. We are particularly interested in new events that would not happen without our support, and events that have the potential to become annual traditions in Oakwood.
-
-
Does my group have to be a registered non-profit to apply?
-
No, any individual or group in the Oakwood community may apply. You are a member of the Oakwood community if you live here, work here, or visit here.
-
-
What if I'm not sure what kind of event I want to host?
-
Contact the OIC at communications@oakwoodic.org at any stage in the process. We are happy to work with you in the ideation and planning stages to help align your proposed project with our funding goals and interests.
-
-
What if my event does not require any funding but could benefit from other forms of support such as publicity?
-
The OIC is happy to support projects with non-monetary needs. You may use the same application; simply enter zero in the budget chart and explain your other needs in the written responses.
