About the Event
The Oakwood Inclusion Coalition (OIC), a new citizen-driven coalition dedicated to inclusivity and diversity, will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, January 27 th at 7 – 8:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all and will be held virtually.
This meeting is an opportunity for interested citizens to learn about the OIC’s vision and mission, and to participate in dialogue that will help form the OIC’s direction and activities going forward.
The Oakwood Inclusion Coalition (OIC) is an organization of government, school, and library officials, private citizens, faith, ethnic and cultural leaders, and representatives from the business and media communities in the Oakwood area and beyond. Its mission is to study, promote, and celebrate an inclusive, equitable, diverse, and welcoming environment and community for everyone who lives, works, visits, or passes through Oakwood. In October 2020, Oakwood City Council, the Oakwood Schools Board of Education and the Wright Memorial Public Library Board publicly recognized the establishment of the OIC and expressed strong support for the OIC mission and purpose.
