About the Event
Media shapes how we see the world, understand each other, and engage as citizens. While it has the power to inform, connect, and inspire, it also has the potential to divide. The ways media frames issues, amplifies voices, and filters content can either foster dialogue or entrench conflict. Algorithms often serve us information aligned with our existing beliefs, while sensational headlines can heighten emotions and obscure nuance. The result? A more fragmented, less trusting society where conversations stall and common ground becomes harder to find.
This conversation offers an opportunity to reflect on the role of media in our lives, explore how it contributes to polarization, and consider what actions or approaches might help bridge divides and build trust in our information ecosystem.
