Civic Saturday

Join Dayton Metro Library for Civic Saturday, a new initiative that is sweeping the nation and fighting isolation. Rooted in ritual, Civic Saturdays seek to blossom a sense of civic pride and a commitment to deepening community. Success in Akron, Seattle, and elsewhere have inspired us in Montgomery County to take up the torch and light a fire of fealty to our civic values.

What is our goal? To celebrate community, to foster civic power, to practice rituals of civic belonging, and to create joyful neighborhood gatherings.

What will we do? Listen to short snippets of landmark US literature, sing civic songs together, create new connections, and hear from a different local leader each month.
